WAKE UP UTAH delegates! Our values, our rights, and our children are at risk.
To paraphrase Hamlet, Something is Rotten in the State of Utah.
According to insiders, Governor Cox, LG Henderson, and certain Republican Legislative leaders blocked passage of certain, what they labeled "misguided" bills this session. Bills designed to protect our underage children from puberty blockers, breast removal, sterilization, and to ensure that biological males cannot compete against our daughters in athletics.
Yesterday, our Republican Governor and Legislative leaders sent a letter to Utah GOP delegates (see link below). They assured us that their preferred slate of leadership candidates are the right people for the job. They stated "these are the conservative leaders we hope to work with. They are principled, professional, and loyal to our party. This is the team to best represent Utah Republicans."
At the same time, and on the same day, Equality Utah sent this letter asking for money (see the Letter, below). In this letter, Troy Williams of Equality Utah makes a stunning admission: "Your donation will help us provide critical resources to candidates who will be working on your behalf. When harmful pieces of legislation pop up, like the misguided anti-transgender bills we defeated this past session, it’s the Equality Utah endorsed candidate
s that step up to help."
So, who are these elected leaders who killed these "misguided" bills designed to protect our underage children? I wish I could say that despite the best efforts of our "principled" Republicans, these bills were defeated by Democrats. Unfortunately, they weren't.
On the Hill it is no secret that Governor Cox, LG Henderson, and Equality Utah's endorsed "red on the outside, blue on the inside" Republican Legislators blocked these important bills.
So who are the Equality Utah endorsed candidates that stepped up to help? According to Equality Utah, their candidates include: Republicans Senator Daniel Thatcher, Representative Craig Hall, Representative Mike Winder, and Democrat Suzanne Harrison, for whom Mr. Austin Cox, candidate for vice-chair Utah GOP, volunteered his time and energy to consult, advise, manage, and encourage as she prevailed over her Republican opponent.
WAKE UP UTAH delegates! Our conservative principles are at risk. We can do as we are told by the Establishment. An establishment who does the bidding of Equality Utah and other left-wing groups. Or we can ensure Utah's conservative principles and values by voting for proven Conservative leaders.
The choice is yours and Utah's future is in your hands.
We are PAC in action! After a successful legislative session, we are now shifting our focus to electing pro-equality candidates to all levels of state and municipal government.
It’s time to unleash the Power of the PAC!
Usually, by now, we would have hosted our annual PAC Brunch to raise funds for candidates. However, the pandemic has shifted our plans. So, we are turning to you virtually. Can you help us elect stellar candidates who will defend and advance LGBTQ equality?
Your donation will help us provide critical resources to candidates who will be working on your behalf. When harmful pieces of legislation pop up, like the misguided anti-transgender bills we defeated this past session, it’s the Equality Utah endorsed candidates that step up to help.
The Equality Utah PAC was formed 20 years ago to help elect pro-equality candidates. Back then, it was difficult to find many politicos who would even accept our donations, let alone our endorsement. Today, the Equality Utah PAC endorsement is eagerly sought all across the state.
PAC donations may not be tax-deductible, but they will make Utah a kinder, better place!
Together, we make an impact. Thank you.
