According to a news report (here), attorney Ms. Lauren DiFrancesco sent letters requesting information regarding allegations against Mr. Robinson to Governor Cox, Lieutenant Governor Henderson, Congressman John Curtis, Representative Candice Pierucci, Chairman Derek Brown, and the seven alleged victims, Ms. Aimee Winder-Newton, Ms. Laurie Stringham, Ms. Abby Evans, Ms. Erin Preston, Ms. Lisa Bagley, Ms. Kim Coleman, and Ms. Barbara Stallone. I understand several more letters will be going out soon.
Ms. DiFrancesco is an attorney who represents my prior Communications Director, Mr. Dave Robinson. The letters to the above-named individuals contain specific requests of them for information, documents, etc., regarding the allegations and statements made against Mr. Robinson. Mr. Robinson provided copies of the letters to me and they can be found at chairmanmiller.com.
Among several things, the letters specifically state, "...given the likelihood of litigation regarding these matters...".
I understand Mr. Robinson prefers to avoid litigation and have this matter resolved in a fair and transparent manner. It appears he has been denied an opportunity to defend himself against these allegations and has not been given due process. Therefore, if the recent letters are not responded to in a forthcoming manner, I understand he might be left with pursuing justice through legal channels. The likelihood of litigation seems to have increased yesterday based on Governor Cox and LG Henderson's response of, "with the potential of litigation, they cannot comment".
We have got to hand it to Utah's Republican Establishment for trying. The Establishment cannot beat me on my record of wins and diversity and fundraising, so they resort to gutter tactics.
First they falsely accuse me of ignoring women's complaints of sexual harassment, complaints that were never brought forth. Now they accuse me of purging delegates from the county list. A list I didn't have access to edit.
Next, don't be surprised if the Establishment alleges I drained the State GOP coffers, spent too much money on the State Convention, killed little puppies, left off three federal elected officials from the State Delegate Convention list, and forced Chairman Derek Brown to send Mailers out looking like the state party is endorsing establishment candidates.
Email Tuesday April 27th:
On the Hill it is no secret that Governor Cox, LG Henderson, and Equality Utah's endorsed "red on the outside, blue on the inside" Republican Legislators blocked passage of what they labeled "misguided" bills this session. Bills designed to protect our underage children from puberty blockers, breast removal, sterilization, and to ensure that biological males cannot compete against our daughters in athletics.
Yesterday, our Republican Governor and Legislative leaders sent a letter to Utah GOP delegates (see image on the right). They assured us “these are the conservative leaders we hope to work with. They are principled, professional, and loyal to our party." See top of next Page.
At the same time, and on the same day, Equality Utah sent a letter asking for money, where Troy Williams makes a stunning admission: "Your donation will help us provide critical resources to candidates who will be working on your behalf. When harmful pieces of legislation pop up, like the misguided anti-transgender bills we defeated this past session, it’s the Equality Utah endorsed candidates that step up to help." See bottom of next Page.
WAKE UP UTAH! Our conservative principles are at risk.
We can do as we are told by the Establishment who does the bidding of Equality Utah and other left-wing groups. Or we can ensure Utah's conservative principles and values by voting for proven Conservative leaders.
The choice is yours and Utah's future is in your hands.
Email Monday April 26th:
Why are Republican elected officials proclaiming LESS Federal control to their voters in rural Utah while spending millions, working behind closed doors with the liberal Democrats, petitioning for MORE Federal control in Utah?
As your State GOP Chairman, I will help elect strong candidates across Utah who understand the importance of consistent implementation of our Conservative principles and values.
Email Saturday April 24th:
Spencer Cox’s leadership is transforming Utah:
Therapists must affirm a minor’s gender change wishes, even though 70-90% change their minds later
Transgender girls (biological males) will compete against our daughters in female sports activities
Cox supports Ryan Smith’s Utah Jazz Scholarship exclusively for students of color. Poor white kids need not apply.
As your State GOP Chair, I will apply equal treatment to all Republican candidates and volunteers, no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation, or one's economic background and upbringing. https://mailchi.mp/3be146f0c5c0/the-transformation-of-utah
Email Friday April 23rd:
Mega-donors, special interests, and elected officials stymied two bills that would have protected our daughters.
As chairman I will help elect legislators who push back on outside special interests, mega-donors, and yes, when needed, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor. https://mailchi.mp/a45d8184bee7/the-price-of-our-daughters
Email Wednesday April 21st:
Looking back at the last few weeks, I understand what it feels like to be Kavanaughed. Utah’s GOP leadership elections are coming up; certain prominent people do not want me elected, and it seems these “good Republicans” are performing last-minute, gutter antics to destroy my reputation with unfounded accusations.
Fortunately for Justice Kavanaugh, there was a process, a time, and an opportunity for hearings and cross-examination. Unfortunately, it seems Mr. Robinson and I are not afforded the same. This must change. https://mailchi.mp/81a55718da3a/got-kavanaughed
Email Saturday April 17th:
Do the State GOP and Salt Lake County GOP simply accept "guilt by accusation" as they watch the feigned indictment play out in the press? If it were their son, their brother, or spouse, would they feel differently about ensuring due process?
I invite you to watch the short segment on Channel 2 from Wednesday April 14th.
Email Saturday April 10th:
Many left-wing outsiders have moved to Utah with the specific goal of turning Utah blue. The threat is real, their influence is growing, their pockets are deep, and many in our own party seem willing to assist them.
I am the only candidate running for State GOP Chair with the proven track record of turning back the purple and blue and solidifying Utah's RED status.
Let's say NO THANKS when Utah Republicans Chris McCandless (previous Sandy City Councilman), Tom Dolan (previous Sandy City Mayor), Troy Walker (current Draper City Mayor), Scott Anderson (current Zions Bank President), and AUSTIN COX(current Candidate for Utah GOP Vice-Chair) fund, endorse and yes, even manage the campaigns of liberal Democrats!
I ask for your support and vote as your next State GOP Chairman. As a proven, principled, conservative, I have the proven track record to say NO to those Republicans who support Democrats.
After a tremendously successful 2020 election year, SLCo GOP Chairman Scott Miller is determined to apply his winning formula state-wide.
"Salt Lake County is the largest, most diverse County in the State of Utah. Every candidate that worked directly with our County election team from start to finish won their respective race! We successfully delivered to Salt Lake County voters a Republican supermajority on the Salt Lake County Council. We also assisted in taking back Congressional District 4 and helped keep the assessor’s office Republican. Our unprecedented success was not by chance, but was well planned, well-executed, and extremely successful”.
Miller continues, "As they say, ‘if you can win Salt Lake County, you can win across Utah’.”
"Every one of our successful candidates focused on voter-relevant issues. They embraced a policy of identifying, articulating, and implementing issues that are important to all Salt Lake County voters and specific to the race they were running.”
“When our candidates campaign on specific issues and principles, our voters are better able to hold them accountable.”
"The issues adopted by our candidates ranged from a bloated County budget, numerous overpaid County Deputy Mayors, environmental issues, Constitutional Amendment D, and more.”
"If elected as state GOP Chairman, I will employ this same strategy in races all across Utah. We must do a better job at articulating our conservative principles and how they apply to our everyday life".
"In many instances, our constituents, concerned parents, and voters are being left out and ignored as more and more "deals" are struck behind closed doors with lobbyists, mega-donors, and certain elected officials.”
"Under my leadership, we will strengthen the voice and the role of voters, volunteers, and residents who are the backbone of our GOP”.
"In Salt Lake County, we have seen first hand the pitfalls of the Executive Branch (Mayor's office) overreaching and interfering with the Legislative Branch (County Council), particularly in the planning department, land use, and staff operations. This has resulted in heavy-handed, secretive, and arbitrary actions from the SLCo Mayor's office”.
"Under my leadership, we will respect the roles of the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government and we will push back any attempts of either Branch to interfere with the roles of the other".
“My philosophy is, we embrace people no matter their race, income, sexual orientation, etc.”
“Not only did we help elect the first Native American to the Salt Lake County Council, but also a single mother from the West side as a new Council member At-Large. Our volunteers include Republicans, conservative-leaning Democrats, members of the LGBTQ community, a rancher from rural Utah, and more. Volunteers and new voters, anchored in conservative principles, will continue to be welcomed as we expand our Republican party across the State"
Some believe the main focus of the State and County Party should be to raise money. Yes, fundraising is important. But our successful 2020 election proved that strategic spending, careful selection of contractors, the extensive recruiting and use of top-notch volunteers, and clear, articulate messaging are at least as important or more.
Despite being outspent nearly 10 to 1 in some races, we expanded our majority where others said it could not be done. With disciplined spending, we were able to provide to the candidates:
- free yard signs
- free campaign websites
- free email services
- free videos
- extensive messaging and communications support to numerous campaigns.
Of course, we will focus on raising the funds needed to operate the Party, but we will also focus on these other critical strategies and deliverables.
Chairman Miller states, "As conservatives, we proved in Salt Lake County, we really can do more with less, even in political campaigns. We will do the same for the State GOP."
